Alejandro Herrera is a Chilean author and the creator of The World I Inhabit: When Words Are Not Needed. The research and creative process for the novel began in 2014 and progressed gradually over the years.
The work is born from a sustained exploration of memory, belonging, identity and the relationship between people and territory. Imagination and curiosity guided a search process conceived as the foundation of a literary fiction, not as an academic study or as a definitive interpretation of the matters that cross the story. Alejandro Herrera is the author of a work of historical and literary fiction set in southern Patagonia. The page distinguishes the novelist's creation from the cultural authority that corresponds to the Kawésqar, Yagán and Aónikenk peoples and their own sources.
